Less but better – light for modern comprehensive school in Dortmund

Starting with the school year 12/13 the school form #Secondary School has been introduced in North Rhine-Westphalia. Commissioned by the client “City of Dortmund” to plan and execute a new main building for the students of the secondary school, the planning office SSP AG developed a low-tech building on the campus that meets the challenges of modern forms of teaching.

The Reinoldi Comprehensive School is an integrative school in which children with different learning requirements are taught together. Therefore, the teaching content is prepared in such a way that different learning types, approaches and learning times are taken into account.

The appropriate lighting by Regiolux supports the joint #learning and the #concentration ability of the students. The modern school building was equipped with the pendant and recessed versions of the universal #hokal lighting channel system. Selectable #lighting technologies help to achieve an optimal lighting climate – so that visual comfort, visual performance and safety as evaluation criteria of lighting always achieve top marks for different types of rooms.

The Reinoldi Secondary School project in Dortmund has already received several awards, including ICONIC AWARDS 2020, Selection, the Architecture Masterprize 2020, Honorable Mention in Architectural Design and the Spark Design Awards 2020, Winner Gold.
