Flicker measurement at Regiolux

In our new YouTube video, Dipl.Ing. Alexander Ross, developer for #optics and #lighting systems at #Regiolux, explains the topic of #flicker directly in our photometric and colourimetric measurement laboratory.

What is flicker anyway? In which areas is it important and how do you measure it?

The IES standardisation body defines #flicker as the change in #luminance over time. The #light density itself is the perception of the human impression of brightness.
Using our lowea #luminaire for system ceilings as a practical example, Alexander measures the #flicker value with two different #drivers and explains what effects this has on us humans.
The result of the test is clear! In order to keep the flicker and thus the effects on people as low as possible, the choice of driver is particularly important. We at Regiolux therefore make sure that the drivers we install in our luminaires meet the minimum normative requirements.
