Light as a productivity factor – Kräuterhaus Wild in Grettstadt

Why modernisation in industry and commerce is worthwhile now

Industrial and commercial enterprises are under intense pressure to improve efficiency, and lighting plays a key role in this. In production halls, workshops and logistics centres, lighting has long been responsible for more than just illuminating the space. It directly influences occupational safety, concentration, product quality and energy consumption.

High demands on lighting in everyday industrial life

In industrial practice, lighting solutions are required that meet the specific requirements of the working environment. Outdated T5 systems or fluorescent tubes are increasingly reaching their limits: they consume a lot of energy, require extensive maintenance and provide insufficient light quality, which has a negative impact on operating costs and working conditions.

Renovation without effort – a practical example

The Kräuterhaus WILD in Grettstadt is a good example of uncomplicated modernisation. Here, the lighting was modernised using the Regiolux GreenKit Type 1 renovation kit. GreenKit enables existing luminaires to be converted to LED technology quickly and efficiently without the need for major modifications or rewiring.
Before the refurbishment, the old luminaires of type protection 625 were in use. These luminaires were manufactured without holes or punchings on the ceiling side to prevent dust deposits and meet the highest hygiene requirements. They also carried the HACCP mark and could be integrated into the concealed symmetrical ceiling system using a special mounting bracket. These features ensured easy installation and guaranteed the cleanliness of the working environment.
The conversion to modern GreenKit LED retrofit kits was necessary due to the ban on fluorescent lamps and for reasons of sustainability.
As replacing the entire luminaire would have been very costly and time-consuming, the decision was made to go with a GreenKit solution.
This led to a significant improvement in light quality and a reduction in energy consumption, which lowered operating costs while optimising working conditions for employees.
